Hi all,
Started building turbine last year, using Hugh's plans. I have modified a steel tilting "street light" pole. The pole is bolted to a concrete base buried below the ground.
The pole is a "well used" ex. City Council type, my brother got it from a friend? I welded on the round base plate & gussets. Its attached to the concrete base with 25mm galvanised bolts.
Concrete for the foundation base.
Gusset detail
The oval hole in the pole is where the service cable would normally enter, when the pole is buried in the ground. I will run my cable underground via a duct which passes through the concrete, at the pole base.
