Hi Jimmy
I have my tower up this week with the help of my Ferguson 135, (does everything it says on the box). have finished work on my 10 ft turbine execpt for blades I decided to go from turbine to tower as it was summertime rather than spend alot of time inside carving blades
I think people might underestimate the work involved in the tower so I figured if I got that done I would succeed. have yet to source heavy cable from genny to battery, plus rectifier and controller
Sourcing wood.......... I phoned two places O Higgins ,in Shantalla, Galway they do cedar which is light and strong, also a fencing firm in ballinsloe they often work with cedar might be cheaper, may not be same grade, part of the plan for 08,... hope to post photos later

Thanks what size cable do you need.
Some times if I need say 20mm I use 4 cor armored and then use two for each conductor 10x10=20

I hope to hold the max output at 750 w about 30 amps at 24 v (keeping stator cool) so I am thinking 10 mm sq. I havent givin cable alot of thought yet but 3 or 4 core armoured would sound like a good choice. I think I will put my batteries close to the tower , maybe 80 ft of cable any idea on price
